every month i get my royalty reports on my stock catalog, and when reviewing i get a bit excited about how some of them are performing.  so i thought i would mention an image every now and then and try to give a little bit of insight on how i produced the shot.  one image that is doing well recently is this sunset shot of two surfers.  i have plenty of great action shots from surfing sessions but many times the images that do well are the landscapes, the portraits, the culture or lifestyle of the sport.  the shot is an example of making the most of the time when i am shooting.  back lite surfing shots would have ended about 30 minutes before this shot was taken, but i thought i would wait it out a bit to get this frame and about 3 others that are in circulation.  i am not always a patient photographer, but the 30 minutes of waiting was well worth it!

jay says: hey mark - i rarley have any port water on my shots, mainly cause the port is treated before i go out and shoot and i fstop is also pretty narrow in depth of field, so if there is soemthing on there, you just dont see it. but in the past any water on the port has never stopped me from using an image, just becomes one of those imperfections you learn to love.
