Hi Everyone,

There are only 2-3 spots left in this fridays class. Shooting Kids! I am keeping the class very small which i prefer! The class will include camera basics and shooting discussions, art direction, inspiration, style, 2 shooting sessions, digital processing and the selling process.
if your interested, head over to:
Some quick ones from yesterday, and a little video as well.

Children just can't keep still! It's nice to capture that and they're expression, it's mostly so innocent!

Kids have such great facial expressions, if you can capture them (Like you can) then you definitely can do anything.

So I feed a lot of my family snapshots into stock and its cool to see one hit a homerun. This one of my son Brooks licensed for $2000 this month which was nice to see. You can never rely on just one image a month to pay off, but when you have 1000s in the market, it has started to really payoff in a consistant level. I am recharged to get out there and start shooting again.
thanks brooks!

thanks brooks!

Always nice to see your images in the finished piece! The design sent over a PDF from my CHOC shoot like 6 months ago. Its inspired me to add a resolution to my shooting schedule this year....really want to chase those institutions that have money, value great photography and NEED great photography. Schools, universities, health care, hospitals and pharmaceuticals...hear i come! I should writes some of the goals down...right!? Who are you shooting this year?
Happy New Year!

Chris, if you dont want your money... feel free to give it all to me. I have some good use for it ;-)
Jay/s approach is good - needs to feed his family. Just sad that you have nothing better to do in life then to blog at 4AM in the morning bitching on what other people are doing. What are you doing Chris??
(03.12.10 @ 07:26 AM)
Nobody says:
Jay, you are seriously neglecting your blog !!!.

Chris says:
Mark - How VERY little you know...blessing someone, a group, a company, puts MORE than petrol in a car...if you want to live your life selfishly or love money, it may keep you for a while in material things, but it wont last, and at the end of your life you will have learnt nothing, none other than to please yourself. Man...how you DONT know what will be waiting for you...

Chris says:
Jay, I think your approach is all wrong. Why target those with money? Is that your main goal in life, to chase money? Your love of money will not bring you happiness. How about turning it around, and targeting institutions, companies, charities that have NO money. Put your skills to use in areas that are in NEED. Youll receieve a far better blessing within yourself than that of money. The world is all about money, its greed, its jealousy. Turn it around, and let your photography be a FREE blessing to others.

Saw a great show this past weekend. The 94.9 Holiday Hootenanny. My favorites were The White Rabbits, Phoenix and Vampire Weekend. Hands down Phoenix was the best. Here are some shots, wanted to be a bit closer but did not have Girl Jay there pushing our way up.

Hi Everyone - just some quick news to let everyone know that I am now working with Wonderful Machine for much of my proposals, negotiations, and producing. Pretty excited about that and hope to keep them very busy. For smaller more regional assignments, I will still be handling all the details.
Just some points of contact for WM:
Jess Dudley // Producer
Ben Weldon // Producer
Amanda Hanley // Producer
Just in case you get a call back from an inquiry...hopefully they will turn into a second family here at the studio, despite them being on the East Coast!
so i am now officially part of the machine ;-) thanks Carolyn for the tshirt:
