hi everyone!  just catching up on some posting and here is one of my favorite families!  also played with the processing a bit as the light was really flat and a bit strange.  maybe these guys look familiar, we went from summer to winter!  thanks tara and family!

hi all!  super excited to announce a series of workshops and travel opportunities for like-minded photo people!!  i have had many requests for workshops and so you asked for it! now there are a few things that i am still working on so please be patient while i catch up on a bit of the content.

i will keep this post short and sweet and basically list the few things coming up and give you an idea of what i am up to:

one-day lighting workshop - january 16 - 8 hours of beginner lighting with srobes
shooting kids workshop - january 30 - 6 hours of business, shooting, and post production
costa rica april/march - surf/photo/beer drinking trip for the artist and kid in ya - come learn to surf, get shot, shoot and hangout with toes in the sand.

hi everyone, just wrapped a in studio catalog shoot for a la jolla based pilates company called complete pilates.  business partners mike and armone called to get an important part for the company rolling...image.  so here is one of the studio shots.  just simple, clean, and strong...

finally had a stretch of time to shoot a few things, including a catalog this friday...but my housing went out this morning, so, nice light, nice waves no housing;-(  So here are a few of sue before she headed off for some fun...

hi everyone, just wrapped a promo shoot for kayslee collins.  prepped here at the studio and shot on location not far at 1010 oceanside, bobbie rae dockler did the hair and makeup, kelly k wilcox did the styling and mike sandy directed a video to follow.  nathan apffel DPed the video..and i think collin pierce shot all of us shooting kayslee...so maybe a video to follow the video.  i dont know!

but here are a few.  first one i am pretty proud of finding this hard soft natural light.  i dig it, the rest are all shot with a signle light and are very easy set ups, fast up and down for the variety.

hi everyone!  busy weekend, still catching up.  i am sure you remember lucy... here are a few more and kris and brad as well!

had some fun shooting alison's family.  we shot at one of my favorites beaches, cardiff...and i saw a bunch of people surfing that i knew and wanted to catch up with them afterwards to shoot...waves were up, the sun and light was perfect, water was blue, would have been great, but after 15 mins of duck diving and fighting the waves out, i went to shoot and realized that water was seeping(sounds better than gushing) into my water housing that was holding my canon 1dsm2!  OUCH!  if that was my 5d, it would be done!  i love 1d cameras...super solid.

fixed it tonight, waves are still up!  maybe shoot tomorrow.
