Hi Jay, the video is awsome. Nice shoot. Looks like you were using your 35mm on the 1ds Mk II !? Anyhow, totally rad. We are working on our blog and will send you a link, once its done. Oh and yes, I recognized the back of your head. Looks like you had way too much fun. You must also be in the surfing video they showcase since there are at least 8 guys in the water shooting. hi everyone, just wrapped a promo shoot for kayslee collins. prepped here at the studio and shot on location not far at 1010 oceanside, bobbie rae dockler did the hair and makeup, kelly k wilcox did the styling and mike sandy directed a video to follow. nathan apffel DPed the video..and i think collin pierce shot all of us shooting kayslee...so maybe a video to follow the video. i dont know!
but here are a few. first one i am pretty proud of finding this hard soft natural light. i dig it, the rest are all shot with a signle light and are very easy set ups, fast up and down for the variety.

had some fun shooting alison's family. we shot at one of my favorites beaches, cardiff...and i saw a bunch of people surfing that i knew and wanted to catch up with them afterwards to shoot...waves were up, the sun and light was perfect, water was blue, would have been great, but after 15 mins of duck diving and fighting the waves out, i went to shoot and realized that water was seeping(sounds better than gushing) into my water housing that was holding my canon 1dsm2! OUCH! if that was my 5d, it would be done! i love 1d cameras...super solid.
fixed it tonight, waves are still up! maybe shoot tomorrow.

What are the chances of seeing some behind the scene work? I'm curious how you get such amazingly tack sharp images when your out in the water. Do you have to photoshop water droplets often?
