thought this was a very interesting set of images of some pretty amazing people.  and the presentation is very cool.  just a little bit of insight really makes the images that much more enjoyable to take in as a photographer.

recently have been shooting around the studio a good bit for the workshops and a few other sessions... here is shoot 2 of the private session i mentioned earlier.  thanks to all for being a part of it

just a quick post to thanks all those that came to model and help produce the one day lighting class.  big thanks to sharon, gail, alex, joy, kiersten, andrew, alison and marco at 1010 oceanside for making it all happen!  pretty big production, but i never seem to do anything small time!

have not enjoyed a crazy, fast kids shoot in a while, so here is one for ya!!  thanks to the kids and parents for coming out and shooting!!  this session was one of two photo sessions put together for a private mentoring one day session.  pretty fun stuff!

This is MORE vacation than workshop.  there will be time for shooting everyday, and special outings that i am planning for photo sessions, plenty of adventure stuff and fun, and some casual talks on photography, but it is more vacation with like minded fun people.  keep the expectation in check for $750.  there is next to no markup on this trip.  just an opportunity to get out, shoot, have fun and learn from each other

there maybe additional fees for such things as additional tours, sightseeing, park entrances, surf board rentals, model fees if we do a formal shoot, whatever else you want to do on the trip

If your coming alone and you want your own room, then you pay for 2 people.  The rates are based on double occupancy.

Can I bring my husband who does not take photos??  Sure anyone can come, this is a photo trip but there is plenty to do if your not shooting

8 days/7 nights surf/photo vacation - $750 covers the hotel rooms, some meals, and your car rental, caravan style, double occupancy.  bring a friend(s) or travel alone and meet some new people.  10-15 spaces.



this is a photography vacation more than it is workshop, but there will be plenty of shooting sessions and side trips as well as opportunities to just chat about photography.  there will also be lots of surfing.  if your not a surfer, not a problem, rent a board and take lessons!

have a shoot that i need family and kids for, photogenic family, cute kids wanted, boys or girls, can be groups of kids as friends, as long as they are ok with direction... 1 hour long THIS saturday in carlsbad, mid day.  will accept up to 2 families for the same shoot, all the images on disc will be provided.

The one-day lighting class is an introduction to the fundamentals of strobe and studio lighting.  The ideal student is someone that has little to no experience in using strobes or wishes to hone abilities.  Completing the class will give you the knowledge and confidence necessary to buy or rent your lighting gear, set up lights, get creative in your use of lighting, and produce imagery that has a more dynamic produced look.  This class is perfect for photographers looking to expand their abilities or improve their productions of musical promos, corporate portraits, beauty and/or fashion.

This workshop concentrates on single strobe lighting using a combination of light modifiers in various locations.  Come ready to experiment and learn the differences between umbrellas, beauty dishes, softboxes and ring lights.  Class is keep to a maximum of 10 students.

8-hour class - $350/per person - $300/2 or more
